Ulaanbaatar, once in the past anglicized as Ulan Bator (Mongolian: ,  actually "Red Hero") is Mongolia's capital and biggest city. A district, the city is not some portion of any aimag (territory), and its populace starting at 2014 was more than 1.3 million, half of the nation's aggregate population. Situated in north focal Mongolia, the region lies at a rise of around 1,300 meters (4,300 ft) in a valley on the Tuul River.
